Payment Info:

Please select Payfast to pay with a credit card in South Africa, unless you have a Paypal account & would prefer to pay that way.

You are also welcome to make payment via EFT - please just email proof of payment once done.

Manufacturing Info:

Each item of Starbright Jewellery is made entirely by hand - I smelt the silver, roll the metal, and cut out each piece by hand. (no lasercutting involved!) ;) (all except chains, which I buy in..)

I use a small percentage of Indium in my alloy (together with silver & copper), to create a sterling silver (925) alloy that doesn't tarnish as fast. Unfortunately the chains may tarnish a little faster..

Jewellery Care:

Tarnishing is accelerated by perfume, chlorine & ocean air, so I would suggest perhaps taking off before any of these, and keeping jewellery in a sealed container when not being worn.

Sterling silver jewellery will unfortunately always eventually tarnish, but is easy to clean with a polishing cloth, or to get re-polished again if necessary. I don't advise using jewellery cleaning solutions, apart from this if necessary:

Place a piece of tin foil and some bicarbonate of soda into a plastic bowl. Put your jewellery in, and pour freshly boiled water over it. Leave for a few minutes, then rinse with cold water. Repeat if necessary. I've found this to work very well - even on blackened chains! :) (Not recommended for costume jewellery)

Timings:

I don't always have stock on hand, so please allow 1 week for manufacture (before sending) As each item is handmade, it does take a little longer!

Resin pieces may take a few days longer, due to drying times ;)

For custom designs, please allow at least 2 weeks for design work, and an additional 2 weeks for manufacture..

Repairs:

If a repair is needed, due to a manufacturing fault, I will gladly repair the piece for you, but please note that courier costs are for the customer's account.

Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee chains, as they are bought in. If you need a replacement chain, please contact me with pleasure, and I can organise for you. A 45cm sterling silver chain would be R120.

Shipping:

If you're in Cape Town, you're welcome to collect from me in Oranjezicht, but please note a time will need to be arranged in advance.

For South African orders, I offer free shipping for all orders over R700 - courier to your door :)

Otherwise, courier is R70 with Fastway (to most major towns), or Aramex if you're further out..

For International Orders, I offer courier via FedEx, which takes just over a week on average. *NB. Please note that fees or taxes may be charged by your country's customs department.*
